Pi Tau Sigma is the International Honor Society for Mechanical Engineers. Pi Tau Sigma members are chosen on a basis of sound engineering ability, scholarship service, leadership, and integrity. The Pi Tau Sigma mission is to strive to create better engineers through commitment to academic excellence and dedication to service. Pi Tau Sigma prides itself in the core values: Integrity (soundness of character and moral conduct), Service (serving the mechanical engineering profession and the community), and Leadership (fostering initiative through example in a professional manner). The Pi-Rho chapter was inducted in 1948 and is made up of the top Mechanical Engineers at the University of Michigan. We are active within the Mechanical Engineering community, organizing department activities such as the annual Halloween Bash and Pancake Breakfast as well as professional events such as information sessions with our corporate sponsors. We also serve our community through volunteer events at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum, Nichol's Arboretum, and with WISO Science Olympiad.
