"Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats" - Kenneth Graham, The Wind in the WillowsIt was my father who introduced me to the quote above which had inspired his love of sailing and thus mine. He used to take me out sailing when I was a young lad, 'simply messing about in boats'. We had a small "trailer sailer" that we spent a lot of time sailing in, getting wet and learning the ropes. A number of years later, I had the opportunity to travel to far north QLD with an aboriginal community taking them sailing across to their tribal lands. Across all this time, I was amazed by beauty of the coastal landscape and the power of the sea.Fast forward to today and the most amazing idea is present. It is also our mission: To photograph the entire Australian coast, into one seamless large photograph whilst documenting, recording and preserving the beauty for the future generations. Australia's coast is full of beauty, and as the largest island in the world will take at least 6 months. A typical circumnavigation of Australia is 7,500 nautical miles - ours is over double that to hug our fantastic coastline. Combining this and the unpredictability of the sea, this will certainly be an adventure. We hope you join us in being a part of this.- Adrian Morgan, Partner, Picture The Coast
