Pilsen Junior Tennis Camp (PJTC) was founded in 2009 by Mark Revermann and Tara Alcazar with a simple mission: To provide economically challenged children in Chicago neighborhoods between 7-13 years of age with the opportunity to experience a FREE introduction and instruction of tennis in a healthy and nurturing environment which can instill a sense of personal achievement, confidence and self-esteem to take with them throughout their life. Our head instructors played college tennis and many are certified with the PTR and USPTA. They realize the contribution that tennis coaches and instructors made in their lives and they now want to give something back to a community deserving of a little help in a sport they hold so close. All instructors come with a passion for the sport and a fervent desire to instill that spirit in the kids.Last summer 100 campers attended our program and received a first-rate introduction to the sport. Thanks to generous continued support from various individuals, organizations, and surrounding communities there are 300 campers enrolled in summer 2010 sessions.
