My childhood memories weave a story of a woman in the driver's seat. Fast forward to my adult life where I took my drivers test while 8 months pregnant; I passed. Taking my car for its first service - I did not have a clue. I started my first job in the motor industry as a receptionist. I gradually moved from receptionist, to trainee Service Advisor, to Service Advisor, to an Audi Internationally Certified Service Advisor. But where were the women? When they brought in their cars, they were uncertain, they did not even want to know anything and had a "just get it fixed" attitude. Some of them even preferred to be helped by a man instead of a woman. And that is the reality women face when dealing with such a liberating tool - their car. Mobility is a freedom in itself that is immeasurable; it's not a space only for men. I have met and befriended women in different roles in the motor industry, but what bothered me was the notion that we did not belong there. It was a boys only club. I want to change that with Pink Torque Projects. Creating a network and space for women to feel part of their own vehicle repair journey. The first step is creating a digital tool that helps them with this, Trechi. Trechi is the digital platform where you can book a qualified mechanic/technician to come to you to carry out a pre-approved service, repair or diagnosis.Our passion is cars and our unique experience has brought us all together to share what we love. We have a collective mix of experience in the automotive industry ranging from technicians, service advisory and sales executives. We believe automotive excellence is not limited by gender.
