At the core of Pioneer Passive is the belief that a home should be affordable, free from toxins and cost nothing to operate. Pioneer Passive is a company that aims to manufacture state of the art building envelopes in a controlled environment free from weather delays and exposure to the elements. Our homes require 90% less energy to heat/cool. We provide a state of the art heating and ventilation system as well as enough solar panels to offset the home's energy consumption, meaning these homes will cost nothing to operate and will save the average Canadian $3000-$4000 of net income every year. A partially automated assembly line will mean higher volume, lower labour costs, shorter construction times, volume discounts, and less material waste. This means we can provide a better product in a fraction of the time without paying a hefty premium. We have developed a unique building system and are in the process of completing an intensive pre-build engineering analysis that will determine the point of diminishing returns for wall insulation in each of the climate zones in Western Canada. This research will also use regional solar data to calculate the exact amount of solar panels required as well as engineering the building envelope to ensure that no condensation occurs inside the wall cavity even in the coldest climates in Canada.With the BC Energy Step Code already in effect, the BC building code will require that by 2032, all homes be energy modeled and built to the Passive House Standard (90% more energy efficient than current building code) We are looking to make this transition as painless as possible for both sides of the building industry. We will take remove most of the technical and expensive aspects of this mandate by engineering and energy modeling ahead of time so that expense does not lie on the homeowner. If we know how our wall performs everywhere is our sales region then we can save a large amount of money that would otherwise compound with each build.
