UW-Platteville's Formula SAE team is a motivated group of undergraduate students from a broad range of disciplines, including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Industrial Technology Management, Business Administration, and more. The team requires students to apply knowledge learned in the classroom to design, simulate, build, validate, and continuously improve formula-style racecars. Our new vehicle, PR-20, is designed around a 2013 Yamaha WR-450 single-cylinder engine. The engine runs on a stand-alone Microsquirt ECU calibrated by our members. PR-20 will feature a new composite suspension, aerodynamic package, and paddle-shifting system.
