Pixel Poetry has changed its name to Pixel Poetryx, to avoid confusion with several graphic design companies, in various countries, using the former name.Main Website: www.pixelpoetryx.co.ukAlternative website: www.pixelpoetry.yolasite.comPixel Poetryx is a software development company run by Mick Gilford, PGCert(Oxon), MA(Cantab), MSc(Imperial), DIC.The main focus of the company is the provision of software tools for 2D graphic image analysis and manipulation. The emphasis is on high quality, high resolution, design of small images such as can be used on websites or for business cards, postcards, book covers and dust jackets. The Pixel Poetry Image Manipulator application can create abstract mathematical designs based on real functions of two real variables: f(x,y), f(r,theta); Mandelbrot family fractal patterns; chaos theory strange attractor images, based on work by Field and Golubitsky; as well as the manipulation of photographic images (.jpeg or .png files). Text can be added to images. Images can be distorted (e.g. fisheye effect) or corrected for distortion (e.g. pincushion, barrel, converging verticals). Edits can be applied to selected parts of an image, applied via a gauze, and faded into unedited areas. Cut & paste operations allow image texture and image regions to be analyzed and overlaid. Conversion between grey-scale, RGB and RGBA allows novel colour effects to be achieved. The intention is to marry creative, artistic, graphic design capabilities with powerful, mathematically based, software algorithms.
