Banaras Hindu University, established in the year 1916, is counted among the esteemed and prominent universities of India. For 5 consecutive years, the university has retained 3rd rank in the universities category of NIRF ranking. The Placement Cell, Faculty of Social Sciences(FSS), BHU functions under the aegis of University Placement Coordination Cell, BHU. It aims at providing Placement and internship opportunities to the students of different departments under the Faculty namely Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Political science and History. With the changing times, the Faculty has branched out by setting up new centres in areas such as women's studies and peace studies along with some of the professional courses like Master of Personnel Management & industrial relations(MPMIR), M.A in Public Administration(MPA),M.A in energy economics, M.A in Integrated Rural development and management(MIRDM), M.A in social work( MSW), PG Diploma and M.A in Conflict Management & Development and MA in Heritage Management to meet the emerging challenges of present day world.
