Planks has been inspired by generations of skiers who have rebelled against the traditional idea of what skiing should be. From hot-dogging, to smashing bumps, from dropping cliffs to ripping turns, skiing has always been cool!But in 2008, there was something fundamentally missing from skiing. Ski outerwear was vanilla and we wanted chocolate, strawberry, mint and coffee, in fact we wanted the whole ice cream parlour. We didn't want to start standing sideways just to look cool, we wanted a look that reflected who we were and what we stand for as skiers. Something had to change so Planks began to give skiers their own voice and their own identity.We were a rag-tag bunch of ski-bums, we knew nothing about clothing and even less about business. But we were passionate and knew what we wanted, so we dropped in.Our journey has led us from selling t-shirts out the back of a van, to selling outerwear across the world. We've made a lot of mistakes along the way, but just like skiing, when you crash you get back up and keep on shredding.
