Founded in 2017 and with the support of Singapore National Eye Centre, Singapore Eye Research Insitute and National Health Innovation Centre, Plano launched the world's first science-based parental control application, planoApp, with a corporate vision to "Keep all eyes healthy in our digitized world".With more than 1.5 billion people suffering from myopia, also known as short-sightedness, the number is expected to rise to 5 billion by 2050. Plano aims to tackle this epidemic that could see 1 billion people (by 2050) developing high myopia, which can lead to blindness. Studies have shown that excessive smart device use is a key contributing factor.While we support the advances and the uptake of technology, we believe in building safe and healthy relationships with devices.
