Platform is a startup in the pre-seed funding stage. Platform is a multi-sided web and mobile application that acts as a bridge between an election's candidates and their voters. For how important of a role politicians serve in our communities, getting information on them should be effortless. Currently, this is not the case, and it can be difficult to even find who is running and for what office. On the other side, an aspiring politician has to come up with ways to raise ludicrous amounts of money to even stand a chance in the race. In the case that they find the money for a campaign, they then have to rely on commercial organizations to supply them with information about their voters. Platform offers a solution. By taking 5 minutes to create a free profile, voters will be able to instantly see the candidates that are running for office in elections near them. At the core of every profile is a simple survey that tracks a voter's political ideology. Through a computer algorithm, the survey of each candidate is compared to the profile of the user, giving a percentage of how similar their political views are. Voters can also choose to support or disagree with a candidate, and as a result, are able to track which candidates are in the lead. They can also follow candidates so that when election day comes around, they know exactly who they want to vote for. For candidates, Platform offers a dashboard that contains detailed and valuable voter demographics. Instead of information about voters coming from commercial organizations, it comes straight from the source. This reduces campaign costs and results in voluntary, honest, and accurate data. As an added benefit, voters will be able to donate to campaign funds directly through the application. Our goal is to change the world of politics for voters and candidates alike by taking advantage of widespread modern technology.
