The playground at Habib University is set as the most cutting edgedesign research facility in the country. Leveraging the spectrum ofexpertise available at Habib University and using Human-CenteredDesign approach as its central pillar, The playground provides anunparalleled ecosystem for creative, collaborative andtransdisciplinary approach to problem-solving. Since its officiallaunch in August 2017, playground has organically grown into theinstitution's preferred space, physical and intellectual, forpedagogical innovation and complex problem-solving. It hasestablished itself as the venue of choice for projects involvingdesign, making, transdisciplinarity and innovation for students,faculty and our industry and community partners. The complexchallenges that we face today require us to think beyonddisciplinary boundaries. It is also essential that these problems areboth understood and addressed from the lens of the user. Keepingthese ideas central to problem-solving approach, All courses,workshops and pop-ups routed through the playground feature theuse of a range of design research methods including but not limitedto systems thinking, speculative design, service design, interactiondesign and communication design.
