Education Management - Belo Horizonte, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil
PMDome® Workshop is a practical project management training program where a group of participants is divided into teams which compete to demonstrate superior project management performance according to the basic requirements outlined in a Statement of Work supplied by a fictitious client. The main project deliverable is a physical structure, called a geodesic dome, constructed from sheets of paper, to be planned, executed and controlled in real time using the PMI® framework. The dome construction provides a case in which all planning processes can be executed and validated in practice, even within the restricted space and time of a one day training program in a classroom. In September 2005, the Project Management Institute (PMI®), the leading non-profit association for the project management profession, announced the PMDome Workshop as winner of the 2005 PMI Professional Development Product of the Year Award. The award honors new development products which help to advance the project management profession.PMDome is offered as a 1 day workshop, using the concept of "learn by doing."The objective is to offer the students a complete Project Management experience using the PMI perspective, without the need to directly learn all the theory. The training program is directed towards Executives, Senior Managers, Project Managers, Resource Managers and Team Members. The workshop can be delivered globally by Ricardo Vargas.
