Pochi is inspired by the traditions of silk farming, production and weaving in Chin state – we are revitalising rural silk craft in Myanmar. Our farming families are working hard to harvest mulberry and rear silkworms to produce Chin's first silk threads in over 30 years, whilst in Yangon we are developing products with imported silk until the first delivery of Chin silk arrives.Our silk masks have been handwoven on traditional looms by Ma Hnin, Sandar, Thuzar and our Chin weavers. In non-Covid19 times, we would welcome you to our Yangon studio to watch our master-weavers at work – but in the meantime, you can support our mission of empowering rural producers by purchasing products from our website.
