Poetz.com is a not-for-profit literary website created in 1999 as a service to the NYC poetry community. Since that time, Poetz has published hundreds of talented writers, maintained active poetry event calendars for a number of major cities in addition to NYC, and provided literary news and opportunity listings for both publication and performance. The site regularly receives more than 10,000 visits each month, and since getting a "Wordpress Makeover" in the spring of 2010, has become busier than ever.Future plans include membership-only areas and sponsorship of writing contests. Poetz is always on the lookout for active hosts who are willing to curate a poetry event calendar for their city. Locations presently represented include Pittsburgh, Vermont, the Greater Hudson Valley & Long Island (both New York state); a Portland (OR) calendar is presently in the making. Previously, Boston, Texas, Florida and southern New Jersey have been represented on the site.
