Sorin Mihailovici and Matt Cook decided to do something out-of-the-box for Christmas and threw a dart at the world's map blindfolded, with a double purpose: 1. to go wherever the dart hits and 2. wherever they are going, they'll have to create an opportunity for that land or for the people living there. The dart landed between the North Pole and Svalbard, some tiny little islands that have more polar bears than human beings. It turned out that this was more than an adventure. Matt and Sorin wanted to create SOME kind of opportunity out of that throw and live PURELY on faith. The challenge was that they'd have to come up with the money to go, and furthermore to raise money for a good cause while doing it. Since it is estimated that three quarters of the population of the polar bears will die in the next 50 years, they decided that they will also donate some of the money we raise for this trip. This is where the things started to get really better, as they created really tempting packages for sale - people who support their trip get back more than what they donate! Check out the official website for the full story and details: www.polarfaith.com Sorin and Matt's mission is to raise money for our trip and subsequently for the polar bears. Five dollars from every donation will go to a polar bear, so the more donations they'll get the more polar bears will get money! The goal is to give $5 to every polar bear in the world, which are about 100,000!
