The Indian Police Foundation & Institute is a multi-disciplinary think tank that brings together the police and the citizen stakeholders - civil servants, academia, media, industry and the legal profession - to launch a nation-wide campaign for police reform and modernization and to work for building a professionally efficient and a people-centric police. The registered Society has two functional divisions namely: (i) The Indian Police Foundation (ii) The Indian Police Institute.The Foundation believes that an efficient and corruption-free Criminal Justice System that respects the Rule of Law would be one of the fundamental pillars of a strong India and an essential determinant of India's economic and social development. One of the main objectives of the Foundation is to lead a strong advocacy towards freedom from external interference in the operational matters of police. The Indian Police Institute is a professional institution and a Resource Centre for applied research, leadership development, teaching, training and outreach, dedicated to promote evidence-based policing and a culture of excellence within the rank and file. It focuses on all-round reform of the police at different levels, through learning strategies that combine theory with practice, aimed to equip police officers with skills to cope with complex problems of policing in a fast changing world.
