Polyhooks is creating library of foreign language memory hooks to help learners acquire vocabulary faster, hold meaningful conversations sooner, and start making connections that transcend borders. Polyhooks brings life to language learning through mnemonics, art, and storytelling. Our approach makes full use of the scenes to aid in memorization. Color, beauty, and entertainment guide you through your language learning experience. Core to our instruction is the use of the memory hooks. Memory hooks are a proven mnemonic device that creates a link between the foreign vocabulary word you are learning and a similar sounding word that you already know. For example the Spanish word "gato", meaning "cat", can be hooked to the English words "got" and "toe". At this point a memorable association can be created in the mind between the vocabulary word "cat" and the hook words "got" and "toe".A polyhook is simply a memory hook that uses our particular style of memorable associations. Polyhooks uses tiny-stories that narrate a connection between the hook word and the vocabulary word. These polyhook stories, memorization games, grammar topics, and more are brought to language learners via beautiful, full-color books and a mobile application available on iOS and Android.
