POMA Systems was formed in June 1985 as a specialist production engineering company under the name POMA Sondermaschinen- und Vorrichtungsbau GmbH. Production at that time was initially restricted to the construction of prototypes and the manufacture of individual parts and short product runs.With its special purpose engineering work the company quickly developed into a systems supplier for automation. Painting applications soon crystallised as one of the company's particular specialities.
