PomWorks is a new competition dance club serving grades 1 through 12 in the Northwest Suburbs. Its goal is to provide girls the excitement of competition regardless of their experience. Urias has been the Cheer Director for the Park Ridge House Football and Cheer League for 12 years and has coached hundreds of girls in cheer leading and poms dance. In 2005 and 2006, Urias coached a junior high pom squad that won their regional division and placed top 5 at Nationals. Last year Urias coached a 6th grade squad that made it to the State Champion Round and finished 3rd place. "The trophy says 3rd place, but it felt like 1st place to me," said Urias. The final scores in that age group were less than 2 points between 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
