Ponere Fibre is guided and inspired by its vision and mission: to strengthen the networks capability to deliver. We focus on providing high-quality, technical assistance to the networks in the areas of engineering, maintenance, access builds and testing. One of the biggest challenges with rolling out fibre backbones is the fragility of the fibre optic cables. Poor quality splicing leads to loss of light, incorrectly installed cabinets result in bad readings, which affects input into complexes. Rough handling by inexperienced technicians leads to broken cables, and bends that can affect the performance of the different wavelengths, slowing down data, voice, and video. Currently, the majority of maintenance occurs retroactively, and testing can typically only point you to the general vicinity of the fault. We hold technical excellence at the heart of everything we do. Our teams are professional, highly-skilled, experienced, and undergo regular training to ensure that every action is considered and precise.
