Gerhard Buckholz is an Austrian born, self-taught artist currently living near the Kruger National Park, South Africa whose technique captures the anatomical correctness, essential movement, and the personality of his subjects. His use of wax clay with various shaping tools are his preferred medium, working surprisingly quickly to flesh out the form of a new sculpture. Creations vary from hyper realistic bronze and stylish pop art sculptures to his latest collection; the chromies, which are the definition of modern contemporary art.
