Portland Parks Conservancy Details
The Portland Parks Conservancy was founded in 2018 to fund projects and programs that provide environmental and health benefits and increase park equity. Portland's parks and recreational programs enhance the quality of life for residents of Maine's most densely populated area by providing the public with affordable outdoor recreation. There is a significant gap, however, between dollars required and those allocated for Portland's public parks. Park "friends" groups have been effective advocates, raising significant funds to supplement City budgets. Many smaller spaces, however, have not had the benefit of such private financial support. PPC collaborates closely with the City, but it is not our intention to supplement projects typically included in the City's annual budget.
