The Roman Catholic Parishes of the Portland Peninsula and Islands are the Cathedral Parish of the Immaculate Conception, St. Peter Parish, Sacred Heart/St. Dominic Parish, St. Louis Parish, and St. Christopher Parish, which includes the mission to Long Island: Our Lady, Star of the Sea.Led by Rector/Pastor, Very Rev. Seamus Griesbach, who is assisted by Parochial Vicars Rev. Agustin Sebasthiyan and Rev. Kevin Upham, the parish is comprised of approximately 4,000 Catholics. The Portland Peninsula and Island Parishes are part of the Diocese of Portland, which encompasses the entire state of Maine and is led by Bishop Robert Deeley, the 12th bishop of the Diocese.
