Gender Equalized Mission StatementPositive engagement for all programs (PEFAP) empowers and builds the capacities of residents of informal settlements during this challenging economic circumstances caused by the COVID 19 pandemic. To mitigate these challenges, the program will: engage youth trained by psychotherapists to reach out to victims of Gender Based Violence (GBV), educate school going girls on Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), support the community to maintain good hygiene practices to prevent COVID- 19, provide psychotherapy counselling services to address the rise in mental health issues caused by the economic impacts of COVID-19, and deliver entrepreneurship trainings to support business that have been adversely impacted by the pandemic.The program will serve women in many different ways. It will increase their access to mental and reproductive health support and education, provide assistance to victims of GBV, and support them to maintain good hygiene practices to slow the spread of COVID-19. The program will support men and women through the provision of free counselling services and entrepreneurship trainings. It will also support the sexual health of both women and men through the provision of free contraceptives to reduce the spread of Sexually Transmitted Illnesses (STIs) and unwanted pregnancies.This project will create numerous benefits for women; namely, the provision of counselling, health education, and entrepreneurship training to vulnerable and victimized women better equipping them to address the discrimination and stigmatization they face during this pandemic, leading to improve work performance and overall mental and general wellbeing. The project will also benefit both women and men through entrepreneurship trainings, helping business owners to continue supporting their families during the challenging economic circumstances created by the pandemic.
