Transportation - Kenosha, WI, US
Since our founding in 1960, Powerbrace Corporation has become the leading North American manufacturer of heavy-duty truck trailer and medium-duty trailer lockrods. But our company's roots are more than a century old. Back in 1912 our parent company, Miner Enterprises, created the original patented lockrod for securing cargo doors on railcars. It was later modified for use on tractor-trailer doors. Since then we have continuously manufactured lockrods and other swing door securement products for highway trailers and hardware for railroad rolling stock from our headquarters in Kenosha, Wisconsin and our Saltillo, Coahuila plant in Mexico. Today's product line includes complete factory-assembled lockrods, partially assembled lockrods (to finish in the field), and a wide variety of component parts. OEMs, field repair shops, distributors and dealers all count on our quality manufactured lockrod kits, cams, keepers and mounting hardware. We also manufacture compression latches and hinges and several more products intended to deter cargo theft. Our passion for providing unique engineered solutions offers us new opportunities in additional industries. One of our most interesting solutions is pictured above. A regional malting company contacted our engineering department for help in safely and effectively securing a gate on a huge vat used for germinating grain. We engineered the perfect solution: a 20-foot lockrod (longest Powerbrace ever produced) that secured the massive door that is now easy for only one operator to open and close.
