PPI Newcastle UK is the name for the Indonesian Student Association in Newcastle Upon Tyne UK. We are a non-profit organisation that focuses on facilitating Indonesian Students in the city.PPI Newcastle, ‘Perhimpunan Pelajar Indonesia di Newcastle (Indonesian Students Association of Newcastle)' was founded in 1983 as one of 32 PPIs in the UK. PPI Newcastle is an official student association supported by Indonesian Students Association of the UK (PPI UK) and the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in London. According to its database, PPI Newcastle has 100 – 150 members, consisting of students from various level of education including pre-sessional programme, undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programme, both in Newcastle and Northumbria University. The organisation primarily focuses on facilitating the social needs of Indonesian students in Newcastle Upon Tyne and Sunderland. PPI Newcastle also acts as an extension for the Indonesian Embassy to reach the other Indonesian communities around the region.Through the biggest annual agenda of the organisation, Discover Indonesia, PPI Newcastle is an active promoter of Indonesian cultures through activity groups, bazaars, performance nights, etc.
