What Exactly Is A "Practical Treehugger?" PRACTICAL TREEHUGGER is the name I gave to people who are dedicated to the idea that our planet's best hope for a healthy future will come by everyone doing what they can. Unlike most conservationists, we believe that the perfect is the enemy of the good. People don't need to be perfect environmentalists: driving tiny cars, eating only vegan food and granola, and living in a yert, that they never heat of cool. That is just not realistic!!! We do believe, that if we all do our best to live in a way that fits our lives and our dreams, AND make an effort to be as environmentally friendly as that lifestyle will allow, we can save the earth……AND A TON OF CASH! If you're a contractor, you need a truck. Period, end of discussion. And that is fine! At Practical Treehugger, we say, "Go for it. Drive a truck! And, don't feel guilty about it." Rather take that energy and put it into the things that do fit you're lifestyle, and needs. Maybe you can bike more, or buy a new fridge, or just make an effort to turn off extra lights. The point being: By all of us doing what we can, what is realistic and possible with our lives, we can accomplish an amazing amount, save the planet, and put money back into our pockets, or sock drawers (if that's your thing, and really who are we to judge?). So where do you begin? With information. And that is what we have lots of. We are dedicated to providing quality information to our readers, information that will give them choices that enable them to live the lives they desire. Tons of tips and suggestions. Some will sound great, and others will sound like mushy peas on a hot day. And that's the point!!! . YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE PERFECT. YOU JUST HAVE TO START!
