Hospitals are the fifth largest producers of waste in Germany; currently producing an average of 400 grams of plastic waste per patient per day. PraktischPlastik is a social enterprise seeking to address this problem. Working with each individual hospital, we co-design plastic sorting, collecting and selling solutions that deliver results for the environment and for the hospital. Our solutions incorporate both change to hospital systems, and to the behavior of those who work there. PraktischPlactik was started in Germany, by four young professionals with diverse experience in the fields of medicine, waste management, social impact and business strategy, and education and training.
