Praxis (from Ancient Greek: πρᾶξις, translit. práxis) is the process by which a theory, lesson, or skill is enacted, embodied, or realized. "Praxis" may also refer to the act of engaging, applying, exercising, realizing, or practicing ideas. The Name:Praxis is a kind of knowledge. It is knowledge being worked out in reality, in-process, becoming-actual. Which, if you think about, is a pretty special kind of knowledge: it's the kind of knowledge that bread is. Long ago, someone had the idea to grind up those golden heads of grain into flour. Thousands of years of agricultural and technological developments have taken that idea—that kind of knowledge—and turned it into a cheap, abundant, life- and civilization-sustaining staple.Praxis is the working-out of knowledge that turns it into sandwiches. It's that kind of knowledge.
