The majority of themicrobes originated from The American Type Culture Collection in Manassas, VA. Microbes are offeredas fresh cultures or as freeze dried cultures.Presque Isle Cultures also offers variety of microbial cultures media used for the growth and study ofmicrobes both in tubes and petri plates. PIC also offers reagents for staining and assessing thephysiological responses of microbes in 4 and 8oz bottles.PIC offers a variety of supplies for microbiology studies such as inoculating loops and needles, slides andcover slips, lens paper and bibulous paper, petri dishes, culture tubes, and assay discs.Presque Isle Cultures is a privately owned company. It was founded in 1968 by the proprietor Richard A. Gammon, Ph.D. Dr. Gammon has a Doctorate in Microbiology (St. Bonaventure University, Olean, NY; 1965).He was a professor of Microbiology at Gannon University (Erie, PA) from 1964-2002 and a researchMicrobiologist for the American Sterilization Company (Erie, PA) from 1966-1995.
