The idea and mission of Pride Campus was inspired by a lack of accessible community for queer young people, especially those transitioning from high school to college. The brainchild of Ryan Thaxton, and funded by Louisiana State University's Ogden Leaders Scholarship, Pride Campus was designed, built, and launched in the fall of 2016. However, Pride Campus would be nonexistent without the talented and meaningful contributions of it's writers and collaborators, fellow queer students, striving to be heard in a stereotypically silent community. With articles ranging from personal, thought-provoking essays to humorous and fun, celebrating all things queer, Pride Campus puts the voices and experiences of LGBTQ youth first. Pride Campus is a safe, inclusive space for students of marginalized identities and a reputable source of journalism.
