Lab and Research Manager: Applied Intersectionality and Minority Stress Lab
The mission of Hunter College's PRIDE Health Research Consortium (which stands for Promoting Resilience, Intersectionality, Diversity, and Equity) is to support research to understand the structural, social, and psychological determinants of health disparities for sexual and gender minority (SGM) communities, to investigate the role of gender and sexuality in health, and to design and implement empirically-supported interventions to reduce disparities among these communities in pursuit of health equity. We aim to cover a range of SGM health issues and have particular expertise in conducting research within HIV treatment and prevention. Researchers within the PRIDE Consortium conduct a mix of formative, observational work to understand the processes underlying these issues, intervention development and testing to improve health, and implementation science to improve methods for disseminating evidence-based practices within real-world settings. The PRIDE Consortium maintains a community-engaged research focus and strives to actively collaborate with partner organizations serving SGM communities toward the ultimate goal of achieving health equity for the communities we serve.
