My first experience in the thoroughbred racing world was when I was eight years old. My grandfather lied to my mother, telling her that he was taking me to a Red Sox game. I remember arriving at Suffolk for the first time...the massive grandstand and clubhouse took my breath away. We went up to the dining room. My grandfather sat me down at the table, tossed the Daily Racing Form in front of me and said, "now, pick me a winner, kid." I was hooked...LOL. I would spend the next seven years traveling to the track every weekend. I studied the Form more than any subject in school. I also researched pedigrees, which became my passion. When I was sixteen, I began working for Marianne Manning as a hot walker. Then moved on to a groom for her, Michael Laudano, and Karl Grusmark. I was also assistant trainer for Mr. Grusmark for about a year before my parents decided to get into the business. When my parents decided to leave the business, I took that opportunity to dive into pedigree research head first. I went to work for a breeding farm in New York, performing pedigree research for their horses and selecting stallions for their mares. It was while I was working there that I began to create the racing partnerships. And, as of today, there are over thirty five individual partners involved in Prime Equine horses.
