Primera Holidays Ltd. was established in January 2016, when two Finnish tour operators, Matkavekka and Lomamatkat, merged. Matkavekka was one of the biggest and oldest leisure and travel companies in Finland, founded in 1973. Tour operator Lomamatkat has also had a long history in travel business. Primera Holidays is part of the Scandinavian travel company Primera Travel Group, which operates also in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland. The headquarters is in Copenhagen. Primera Holidays operates most of its' flights with Primera Air Boeing 737 aircrafts. Primera Holidays was chosen 2015 as a partner for Visit Finland to develop Stopover Finland travel products.
