The Prince William Sound Regional Citizens' Advisory Council is a voice for communities affected by oil industry operations in the Sound, the Gulf of Alaska, and Cook Inlet. Residents of these areas touched by the Exxon Valdez spill have the most to lose from another catastrophic spill. Our 19 member organizations are communities, as well as groups representing aquaculture, commercial fishing, environmental interests, Alaska Natives, wilderness recreationists, and tourism operators. We are an independent non-profit corporation. Our mission is to promote environmentally safe operation of Alyeska Pipeline's Valdez Marine Terminal and associated oil tankers. We work to reduce pollution from crude oil transportation through the Sound and the Gulf of Alaska. We monitor terminal and tanker operations, conduct independent research, and advise industry and government on oil spill prevention and response. We also promote public awareness of oil industry operations in the Sound.
