Financial Services - Wilmington, Delaware, United States
Back ThenIn 1935, postal employee, David Reed, helped organize Delaware's first credit union, Wilmington Postal Federal Credit Union. With an initial membership of only 10 shareholders and operating capital of $80.00, Wilmington Postal FCU received its charter on October 15, 1935, and opened for business. We grew from humble beginnings in a locker room of a Wilmington postal facility, to an office at the Hares Corner Postal Center in New Castle and in 2005, as a result of solid growth and stability, we proudly purchased our current location in Newport, Delaware.NowThe decision to change our name to Priority Plus Federal Credit Union emerged as a result of the future vision of our Board of Directors and Employees. The credit union is strong and very well capitalized. Because of this, we feel this is the best time to position ourselves for future growth and "Deliver the best in banking" to more families, friends and neighbors in our community.TomorrowOur members are, and always will be the most important reason for our credit union's success. Our name has changed but our high level of service will continue. We have built our credit union on the loyalty of our members, and we thank you for your support and confidence in us. You can be assured that we remain committed to the credit union motto of "People Helping People".
