PRISM index Details
PRISM index is a limited edition, handmade, mixed-media art compilation. The whole project seems to fail convenient descriptions, from the outside it is a hand-bound book with a silkscreened cover on handmade paper. Inside are 80 pages of art, comics, short fiction, non-fiction, and more printed offset, partially in color. Sewn into the middle of the book are a lino-block stamped CD and DVD featuring international filmmakers and musicians. Over 50 artists contributed to the first issue of PRISM index. The goal of the publication was to create a collage of current art/culture scenes from throughout the US and the world. The project seeks to establish a platform for multi-media sharing through the tactile, aural, and visual experience of print, images, sounds (CD), and movies (DVD). The name PRISM functions as an acronym for these as they are filtered through this one outlet. Some of the artists featured in the book are Jay Rosenblatt, Bill Plympton, Michael Hurley, Jay Duplass, Azazel Jacobs, Mike Kuchar, Jeremy Earl (Woods/Woodsist), Luke Ramsey, and many more.
