The Pro-1 Goalkeeping Academy was founded in 2002 by Dean Neil. Dean, who is also Head Coach, played for Charlton Athletic as a schoolboy and played at semi-professional level with clubs such as Thurrock, Billericay Town, Harlow, AFC Sudbury, Basildon United and Bowers & Pitsea. Dean set up the Pro-1 Goalkeeping Academy so he could turn to goalkeeping coaching full-time, designing his own syllabus after gaining experience abroad in countries such as Italy, Spain and Slovenia. Dean continues to work for the Spanish Federation and coaches in Italy and Slovenia twice a year. The Pro-1 Goalkeeping Academy offers professional coaching for goalkeepers of all ages, abilities and to both sexes. Dean makes sure the goalkeepers in the Academy are built strong, fit, aggressive and mentally strong so when he puts them into a club, they are not phased. They don't just go in as a trialist but as one of the best goalkeepers in the academy. Through the Pro-1 Goalkeeping Academy, Dean has a proven track record of developing a multitude of goalkeepers into the professional game. Dean assesses goalkeepers for professional clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal, West Ham, Leicester, Colchester, Dagenham & Redbridge, Leyton Orient amongst others. In the past 18 months, Dean has signed more than 30 goalkeepers with professional clubs.
