The Progressive Workshop of Armstrong County, Inc. was formed in 1968 by a group of concerned citizens who wanted to provide vocational rehabilitation services to people with disabilities. Various civic groups raised the money needed for the first year of operation. Currently, funding is obtained through the Behavioral and Developmental Health Program of Armstrong and Indiana Counties and the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. At the present time, the Progressive Workshop provides vocational training at three sites.
