PROJECT AFRICA was incorporated in Kenya as a non profit NGO in 2008. Today, the organization provides supports and services annually to over 1000 women and girls from poor rural and urban settings in Kenya. Its assistance is designed to support individual women and girls to break free from the chains of limiting patterns of gender inequality that have traditionally suppressed them from manifesting their true beauty, full potential and power to be agents of change.PROJECT AFRICA programs include:1. The Rafiki Club – Encouraging self empowerment through the power of friendship 2. Women's Self Help School that offers adult education and vocational skills training, 3. Women Business Centre offering enterprise development skills.4. Women's Leadership Academy: Empowering women into leadership 5. Stars of Africa – A mentorship program for girlsPROJECT AFRICA runs field stations in Lungalunga, Kwale County and Mumias, Kakamega County. Overall PROJECT AFRICA has been recognized for its advocacy work in the country and the state to improve public policy and keep women issues in the hearts and minds of decision-makers, donors and volunteers.
