In India, government hospitals provide free aid to those in need; however, due to the massive population, government hospitals can only treat a fraction of the patients. Thus most of the burden of aid falls upon private and corporate hospitals. For this reason, many of those impoverished struck by misfortune are unable to afford the necessary treatments and are turned away or referred to a different hospital. Each hospital to which they are sent refers them to another, creating a vicious cycle in which many patients die waiting for care. To help provide basic healthcare to these patients, we have created a fund that will go directly to treat conditions such as cholera, typhoid fever, malaria, dengue fever, premature births, and parasitic diseases. Due to the mass corruption in India, very few charitable organizations can trust that their money will go to those in need. From a pool of patients that would otherwise be turned away, those selected will be chosen based on the seriousness of their condition and their inability to pay for the necessary treatments. We challenge you to aid us in our mission to combat these debilitating conditions.-Project AID
