Public Safety - Pikesville, Maryland, United States
Established in 1987, Project Ezra of Greater Baltimore Inc. focuses mainly on safety and security in the Greater Baltimore area.We provide assistance to the community in many ways through our various programs and free resources. For the last 25 years, Project Ezra has been running the Yitty Leibel helpline, an anonymous service which provides mental health aid by frum therapists. We also provide a Notaries at Night service as well as a Community Shred Day and snowbound assistance when the weather is poor. Project Ezra runs G'machs for kittels, rides, and one which loans GPS devices for both Israel and the U.S. We produce and distribute an Emergency Information magnet, provide earplugs at weddings, and give out free handicapped-accessible baseball tickets and parking. Our detailed "Day of Your Chasuna" checklist has been distributed free to ba'alei simcha for the last five years. Over the years, we have sold or given away over 10,000 bike helmets as well as thousands of reflexive safety belts to ensure safe biking and walking practices within the community. During the summer, we also offer first-aid and CPR classes to men and women. Some of our latest programs under the Keep Your Community Safe Initiative include: Keep your School Safe, Keep Your Camp Safe, and Nineteen Questions for Schools. We also provide free security reviews for schools and camps within the U.S. and Israel. Recently, Project Ezra has created a Youth Award and a Community Service Award which have been well received by the community.
