Project Green Light is working with Duke Energy as a Smart Saver Vendor to provide you with the most energy efficient lighting possible. On an average 70% of any commercial electric bill comes from your lighting. It is common for buildings (8 yrs or older) to have "regular" (T-12) fluorescent lights with magnetic ballasts. Retrofitting these fixtures with T-8 lamps and electronic ballasts reduces approximately 60% of their electricity use, depending upon the configuration of the lamps. The most common form of fluorescent lighting is 4 lamp x 4 ft fixtures, usually used for office lighting. Most 4 lamp x 4ft fixtures use four 40 watt T12 lights for a total of 160 watts. Project Green Light can retrofit your existing housing to convert your T12 to a high efficiency Energy Star rated T8 solution by replacing the magnetic ballast, de-lamping two bulbs and only using two 32w T8 bulbs, for a total of 64 watts. These two lights along with the new ballast give off the same if not more light than four T12 bulbs while using less than half the energy.
