Project HELP offers the Parent Mentor Program. It is a nationally recognized parenting and family-strengthening program for ALL families. PMP is an evidenced-based home-visitation program found to help parents improve their understanding of child development, parent more effectively, improve their ability to identify and manage situational stress, strengthen their social support networks, and increase their ability to identify, find, and access services to meet their family's basic needs. Through a partnership with a professionally trained Parent Mentor, parents are supported in developing the capacity and confidence they need to nurture the social and emotional development of their children, giving them a strong start toward future success. For more information or to enroll in the Parent Mentor Program, please contact us at 630-357-5683 (LOVE) The Parenting Education Program uses the evidence-based Active Parenting Now curriculum developed by Active Parenting Publishers Inc. This parenting education workshop teaches parents and caregivers simple and practical techniques that can reduce stress and eliminate the arguments often associated with disciplining children. Through the workshop, parents will develop more appropriate expectations for their children, learn how to teach children with empathy, and nurturance, and how to respond to and effectively manage their child's behavior. Parent will also learn how to provide opportunities for children to grow through mistakes and to learn from the consequences of their choices. Our professionally trained Parent Education Facilitators can HELP you: •Learn how to put an end to conflicts and power struggles, •Teach children important problem-solving skills, •Allow for natural consequences of misbehavior, •Enforce clear, firm, and effective boundaries, and •Learn how to have more control, less stress, & more fun!
