Project Kilkari, a mission with a vision, a journey to end the nights of sorrow for young children began in September 2017 to bestow happiness with the roots of Education in the happy yet bleak lives of underprivileged kids. Initiated by Srishti Sharma after months of constant hard work, its main aim was to peep into the minds of children to analyse the reason of ‘lack of education' in slum areas of Delhi. From getting children admitted into government schools to realizing that just connecting a child to school is not the best solution, the team came up with an idea to fulfil the dream of education of unattended children living on the streets and achieved what others considered hopeless by inaugurating Kilkari Pathshala to make every child compatible enough to be able to read and write. Kilkari Pathshala which started with an aim to strengthen the basic concepts, has now alleviated to an advance module in which children are taught by e-learning methods, science experiments and mathematics made fun by inclusion of activities that help them to reach to conclusions after verification of results practically. Leaving behind nights of terror and believing that ‘Alone we can do so little but together we can do so much', Project Kilkari is expanded in 14 colleges to improve the basic concepts of children and make them realize that ‘Education is the most powerful weapon'. As the project progressed and the kids started building a unique interest in the way they were taught, the sense of satisfaction that we too can be an angel for someone who once completely lost hope in the beauty of dreams, was beyond infinity.A simple thought born from seeing the sad reality of our country, with so many children wandering on the streets begging to survive, evolved into a battle to achieve victory against evil practices such as child labor. Project Kilkari has only just begun with a million of smiles yet to achieve!
