Project Love Me, founded in 2011, focuses it's efforts on building self-esteem in young girls in the South Bay community of Los Angeles. Project Love Me's mission is to utilize sport as a means of enhancing young girls self esteem, through workshops, mentorship and sports clinics. Self-esteem has become a crisis in the United States and abroad. The majority of young girls feel they do not measure up in some way including their looks, performance in school and relationships. Low self-esteem keeps them from enjoying life, doing the things they want to do and working toward personal goals. Furthermore, young girls struggling with self-esteem are more likely to be victims of sexual assault, clinical depression and eating disorders. It is the goal of Project Love Me to assist in the development of young girls into young women who are major contributors to society.Project Love Me is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation in the process of obtaining 501(c)(3) status.
