PROTECH: Pandemic Rapid-response Optimization To Enhance Community-Resilience and Health is a rapid response community-based action research project funded by the Canada Research Coordinating Committee (CRCC) through the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR) competition. The project is led by Professor Josephine P. Wong and Professor Mandana Vahabi (Ryerson University); Dr. Alan T. Li (Regent Park Community Health Centre); and Dr. Kenneth P. Fung (University Health Network). The aim of PROTECH is to mitigate the negative impacts of COVID-19 on the Chinese-Canadian communities and affected service providers in the Greater Toronto Area. PROTECH consists of multiple interrelated components; including an online resource hub that provides accurate and timely information on COVID-19, as well as practical ways to cope with social, economic, and psychological challenges. This online resource hub also offers a "Live-Chat" in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin to address queries that may not be covered by current government and non-profit organization information lines.
