Deora Bodley's Project Team teaches the value of unity and teamwork to youth through creative and interactive group activities.Deora Bodley's Project Team (DBPT) is a nonprofit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS that brings young adults together to mentor local youth and to work on creating bonds in the communities through service outreach events. Our work is dedicated to the life of Deora Bodley, who tragically died aboard United Flight 93 on September 11, 2001.As mentors of local youth, our volunteers serve as positive role models and teach the importance of working together using fun, hands on group activities. In addition, DBPT creates a network between the volunteers and members of the local communities by joining them together on numerous short term projects, such as park cleanups, feeding the homeless, and safety awareness. The program relies heavily on the enthusiasm and creativity of its volunteers. We are interested in being directly involved in our communities so that we know how to assess the needs of the community and how to inspire positive change. In the long term, DBPT hopes to open and run its own after-school community center for elementary-aged youth and spread the Project Team program nationwide.
