Our History When first founded in 2008 by Shane Rives, the agency initially represented a captive insurance company, which meant that Shane and his agents worked for the insurance company and not for his clients. Fortunately, Shane had the foresight to see that there was a better way to serve the interest of his clients. So in 2010 Shane's agency shifted gears, and he formed TRA Insurance Services, Inc. This moved allowed the agency to gain independence which created the ability for Shane and his Agents to help clients get into the policy they needed with the carrier that fit their risk profile. In late 2010, TRA Insurance Services, Inc. began doing business under the brand of Protection Plus Insurance. This brand name fully captures the mission of the agency. Our goal is simple: fully protect every client for every risk they have, regardless of past losses or claims; deliver service so superior that our clients regularly talk to their friends, family, and colleagues about us; and provide the most valuable insurance solutions on the market. T oday, Protection Plus Insurance has a solid foundation and is ready to grow. We are planning to add at least 1 new full-service independent insurance agency every 3 to 6 months for the next several years.
